In 2006, the Air Force Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, industry, friends and allies stood side by side with the Air Force the celebrate the successful conclusion of decades of work to dedicate the Air Force Memorial on behalf of all Airmen, past, present, and future.
Since that sunny October morning, millions of people have passed underneath the spires. People from all walks of life, from all over the world. They came to remember, to celebrate, to gaze upon the sky and the monuments erected across Washington D.C.
The memorial means many things to many people. But it is, and will always remain, a place dedicated to the men and women who dedicated their lives to the defense of freedom through their service in our Air Force.
In 2017, the day to day management of the Air Force Memorial moved from AFA to the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW). The new website is http://www.afdw.af.mil/afmemorial/.
Air Force Memorial Donations:
Any funds donated to the Air Force Memorial Foundation in the past, will be used for capital improvements to the Memorial. Doing so ensures the Memorial will continue to grace the Washington area skyline and serve as a reminder of the service and sacrifice made by thousands of active duty, civilian, Reserve and US Air National Guard Personnel of the US Air Force and predecessor organizations.
